Protester nails testicles in Red Square

A Russian performance artist continues to be come to hospital after draining naked and nailing his testicles to some Red-colored Square cobblestone in protest from the Kremlin's attack on political privileges.

A relevant video from the graphic action, on Russian websites, shows artist Pyotr Pavlensky sitting naked outdoors Lenin's Mausoleum being engrossed in a blanket by cops while horrified passersby check out.

The condition-run RIA Novosti news agency stated Pavlensky was come to a police station after receiving treatment inside a central Moscow clinic.

The Saint Petersburg-based artist stated inside a statement published around the Grani.ru website he was attempting to highlight Russian society's inaction when confronted with the introduction of a 'police state'.

Russia marked its annual Police Day holiday on Sunday.

It's not the very first time the 29-year-old has turned to eye-watering techniques of protest.

He's formerly stitched his lips together to show from the jailing of two female people from the Pussy Riot punk band who staged an anti-Kremlin performance inside Moscow's primary cathedral this year.
